Herve, Agree! However, you know -it is very complex to do something simple. Even if people want to do it, there are many destructive factors in organizations that push people to work differently. I think, the technologies should drive some differences here. The situation when companies will continue to run multiple application will stay with us for the next visible future. Despite marketing dreams, I don't see how customers migrate to the "so called" single PLM platforms. Just my thoughts... Best, Oleg

Herve, Thank you for commenting! On the surface, it seems to be simple - layers and APIs. On the other side, last 10 years experience with EAI, ESB, SOA, etc. didn't solve the problem. Multiple systems co-existence is a reality and the mess in most organizations in the industry. My take is simple - we are missing the point of system integration. Don't you think so? Best, Oleg

As always, a good topic.

Interoperability and heterogeneous systems are great. They are key features for companies to develop their own innovation, and corporations to work together.

The solution is always the same: a layered architecture, APIs and that's it!
